Florine Leoni

Florine Leoni lives and works in Basel. She has completed her Diploma of Fine Arts at the Hochschule Luzern Design & Kunst (2006) and her Master of Arts in Contemporary Arts Practice at Y-Institute for Transdiciplinarity, Bern University of Applied Sciences (2013). In the course of her masters she has been a student of Douglas Gordon’s film class at the Städelschule in Frankfurt a.M.

Leoni’s work has been exhibited in group and soloshows at national and international venues such as the Musée d’Art Contemporain Montréal (Triennale Quebecoise 2011), Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts Taipei, Taiwan (2010), the Haus für elektronische Künste Basel (2014) and the Donaufestival at Kunsthalle Krems (2013). She has received awards for artistic projects as well as studio stipends for artist-in-residence programmes in cities including Berlin (Post-Studio-Tales, District Kunst-, und Kulturförderung, 2012), Toulouse (Point de Fuite, 2009) and Montréal (Darling Foundry, iaab International Exchange and Studio Programm Basel, 2009).

Florine Leoni has amongst others led workshops, given talks and lectures at University of Applied Sciences FHNW (Institute of Secondary Education I and II), University of Architecture, Construction and Geomatics, FHNW (Institute Architecture), EPFL Lausanne (Institute Architecture),  Museum of Contemporary Art Montréal, CAN and Concordia University Montreal (Master of Fine Arts / Open Media).

Macarena Ruiz-Tagle

Macarena Ruiz-Tagle currently lives and works between Berlin and Santiago de Chile. She received her BFA from Universidad Católica de Chile and MFA from Concordia University Montreal, Canada. Later she obtained a DAAD Grant to participate at Olafur Eliasson ́s Institute for Spatial Experiments in collaboration with the University of the Arts Berlin.

 

Among the awards and honours he has earned the scholarship for academic excellence of Concordia University of Montreal (2008-2010), DAAD scholarship from German Academic Exchange Service (2011-2012), selection and participation in the 13th Venice Biennale of Architecture (2012), Preis Jaqueline Diffring Foundation (2014), Fondart project grant Minister of Culture of Chile (2015), Contemporary Art Contest, Gabriela Mistral Gallery and the National Council for the Arts & Culture, Santiago, Chile (2016) and Art in the Public Space, Ministry of Public Works MOP, Santiago, Chile (2016).

Ruiz-Tagle´s work has been exhibited in collective and solo exhibitions internationally such as the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin (Festival of Future Nows, 2014), the 13. Architecture Venice Biennale (2012), The Great World´s Exhibition 2012 at Berlin´s former Airport field Tempelhof (2012); 15. Farbfest Festival, Bauhaus Dessau Foundation (2012), Museo de Bellas Artes de Santiago (2015), etc. Among the solo shows: Relation of Aspect at Aurelia Nowak Gallery, Berlin (2015), Entre Atmósferas (in between atmospheres) Galería Patricia Ready, Santiago (2015) and Los Atardeceres Perfectos (the perfect sunsets) Galería Gabriela Mistral, Santiago (2016).

Macarena has amongst others led workshops, given talks and lectures at Universidad de Antofagasta (Architecture Faculty), Universidad de Chile (Master of Fine Arts Faculty), Instituto Chileno Antártico, Concordia University Montreal (BFA / Sculpture), CORPARTES Art center in relation to the exhibition titled “Light Show” and at the Institute for Spatial Experiments at the Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin.

Sandra Volny

Sandra Volny lives and works between Paris and Montréal. She is currently a Ph.D candidate in Sciences, Art and Aesthetics at La Sorbonne University in Paris. She received her practice based Master (MFA) at Concordia University in Montréal, and her Research based Master at La Sorbonne University in Paris.

 

Volny is a recipient of several residencies and awards for artistic projects and academic excellence, such as a Creation and Exploration Project Grant from the Québec Council for the Arts (2015), a HLC Harvard University Travel Grant (2015), Canada Council for the Arts Travel Grant (2015), Conference and Seminar Grant from the School of Doctorate studies (2013-2015), the State of Lower Saxony Program for the Promotion of Young Artist in Sound Art (2012), Study and Research residency grant from Region Île-de-France (2011).  

 

Her work has been presented at local and international venues, such as Centre Clark (Montréal, Canada, 2016), gallery Dazibao (Montréal, CA, 2016), Raumlabor-267 Quartiere für zeitgenössische Kunst und Fotografie (Braunschweig, Germany, 2013), the Darling Foundry (Montréal, 2012), the Leonard and Bina Ellen Art Gallery (Montréal, 2011) and Michel Journiac Gallery (Paris, 2010).

 

Volny has amongst others led workshops, given talks and lectures at international events including Hearing Landscape Critically at Harvard University in Boston, US (2015), Running with Concepts: The Sonic Edition, Blackwood Gallery in Toronto, CA, (2013), the 2nd International Congress on Ambiances at the Canadian Center for Architecture, in Montréal, CA (2012) and Hochschule für Bildende Künste (Master of Fine Arts) Braunschweig. Together with TRIANGULAR she also led talks and workshops at Universidad de Antofagasta (Architecture Faculty), Universidad de Chile (Master of Fine Arts Faculty) and Instituto Chileno Antártico (2015).
